There is a new drug that may increase bone thinning. Glaxo Avandia, a drug for diabetes, has been tested and it may increase the chances of getting osteoporosis. The drug is used to improve the response to insulin. The drug was proved that it breaks down the bone making it weak. It was also labeled to increase heart failure.

In Des Moines there have been seven traffic deaths due to ice and snow. A few light flurries fell over Nebraska and Minnesota. New Jersey only saw less than 3 inches of snow while New England and Maine was said to be getting over a foot of snow. In Chicago, they had to cancel flights due to the storm. Also in Des Moines, they canceled flights due to porr visibility. They aslo had a jetliner go off the taxiway due to the poor conditions.

In Baghdad and Buquba, bombs went off killing four poeple and injuring seven. Among the four poeple were two police officers. The first bomb, a parked car, went off around 9 a.m. A suicide bomber slammed his car into a police headquarters injuring 12, but only killing himself. The U.S. military said there is no proof to say it is al Qaeda.

Representative John Murtha and General Douglas Lute talked about more funding for the war in Iraq and Afaganistan. The democrat's part of the compormise is to extend the time it takes to withdraw the troops. Nancy Pelosi said sno to the funding bill. The House has already passed a bill that was $50 billion and Pelosi said that is the only bill she'll pass.

President Chavez who is mediating with the rebels said, FARC agreed to let them out by Christmas. Around 200 people attended the vigil for terminally ill congress woman Julia Carson. She has lung cancer and she announced last weekend that she was retiring. Her grandson Sam Carson said she was moved by all the people come to the half hour vigil.
